First, SearchOS learns your market. Then it works it.
At onboarding, SearchOS interviews you about your desk: what you recruit, who you sell to, which markets you cover and what good looks like. From that it builds a bespoke taxonomy, the brain every other feature runs on.
Your market language, not generic tags
The taxonomy captures your world the way you actually think about it: sectors, sub-sectors, functions, seniority, technologies, geographies and buyer types. A clean energy desk gets BESS, grid infrastructure and EPC. A fintech desk gets payments, risk and compliance. Nobody else's labels.
Every record codes itself on arrival
Add a candidate from LinkedIn, parse a CV, import a CSV, source from Apollo. However a record enters SearchOS, the AI codes it against your taxonomy the moment it lands. Companies inherit codes down to their people, so the structure holds itself together.
- Candidates, contacts, companies and vacancies coded automatically
- Coding is mandatory at every entry point, so the database never rots
- Company codes inherit to the people who work there
- Rebuild or extend the taxonomy any time as your desk evolves
The payoff shows up everywhere
Matching uses context instead of keyword roulette. Campaigns target the right audience by default. Radar filters signals to your niche. Saved lists and call sheets slice the database by the dimensions that matter to you. One 20-minute setup makes every other feature smarter.
Questions recruiters ask us
How long does the taxonomy setup take?
About 20 minutes. The onboarding wizard asks 8 questions about your desk and drafts the full taxonomy for you to review and activate. You can edit or rebuild it whenever your market changes.
What happens to records I already have?
Imported records are coded against your taxonomy as they come in, and you can run a backfill across existing data. Nothing sits uncoded.
Can I change the taxonomy later?
Yes. Desks change and new verticals open up. You can re-run the builder, add or remove dimensions, and recode from Settings at any time.
Is this just tagging with extra steps?
No. Tags depend on humans remembering to apply them, which is why every CRM database rots. Here the AI applies your structure automatically, consistently, to every record, forever.
Does each consultant get their own taxonomy?
The taxonomy belongs to the firm so everyone speaks the same language, and it can cover multiple desks and niches within it.
